Truly it’s no secret that dark skin women have been teased as youngsters as well as disrespected in their adult life by their own black men. Black men constantly get online and disparage darker skin black women influencing us to feel that we are unwanted. We shouldn’t entertain the trolls. We are all grown and know life exists offline. In case you didn’t know darker skin black women are getting married and engaged every day looking just like you and I.

For each black man who married outside their marriage, I can name a few good men who married a beautiful darker skin woman. Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook, Denzel Washington, Courtney B. Vance, Barack Obama, are altogether hitched to dark ladies. Kelly Rowland is definitely loving every minute of her marriage and we already know that Serena Williams, Lupita N’yongo and Naomi Campbell have no issue getting a man. So who says dark ladies aren’t winning?

As a black woman today we must quit having the idea that dark men don’t date any black women, and in the event that they do, they don’t date someone darker than them. This is an entire lie made up by individuals who need just for you to feel less deserving of adoration. This is a false story that as a black community, we should quit engaging. When we trust these images, we are fortifying that dark ladies are not alluring. We are passing these thoughts on to other women in our lives, including our daughters.

Moral of the story, no matter what shade of black you are – black is black at the end of the day and nobody is less than a person because of a skin tone. We all have our own preference on who we love and some it just comes natural to them without even seeing any color not just black or white because love is love so the person who makes you happy and complete is all that matters.
